Barbara began working with the ESL program at Chapelgate Presbyterian church in 1998. She was on the committee to explore and form a viable program that would serve the community. She started as one of the three advanced level teachers, and then assisted with administration with Nancy Booher for many years. She partnered with Nancy in conducting numerous MNA-ESL trainings and became an official trainer in 2015. She is now the lead director for Chapelgate's program. She finds working with the ESL team of volunteers very rewarding. She says "I am so encouraged when volunteers interact with ESL students and then say this is the ministry I've been praying to get involved with."
